Thursday's Walk
Kind of a gray day but a good walk. Did 2.11 miles, 3388 steps, in 44 minutes. As I walk around downtown Eugene I think about how things used to be down here. The redone building at the corner of Willamette and Broadway used to be JC Penney. On the opposite corner was a Payless with a basement that had rows of windows at sidewalk level. There was the Heilig Theatre where the Hilton is now. Brings back memories.
Little eco-system by the dumpster.

This side looked like a little forest to me.
Cab of the Mighty Crane.
The "Crane Rider"
Rhody in full bloom in February. Gorgeous but crazy.
Did you know there is a little garden
by the Hult Center with amazing statues?
Don't know why I thought this was funny.
Even bums recycle?
Finally something in "The Pit". The building on the right
used to be JC Penney. 3rd floor lingerie?

Wednesday with a Beautiful Sky
It was a great day for a walk. Started out cold and ended up being too toasty at the end.  Walked 2.37 miles, 3819 steps in 47 minutes.
Again with the lines! The cloud looked like an airplane.

Do you see the little guy way up on the building?
Looks like a Lego Man!

Strapped in for sure.
Telephone pole that is covered in
concert flyers.

Hundreds of them hanging on for life.

Love the fire escape. My grandmother was
a maid in this building when it was the Eugene Hotel.

A Break in the Rain
Finally got out to walk. Did a different route, not much in photos, but some fun shopping. Apparently, I'm an efficient shopper because I still got in 40 minutes, 1.87 miles, and 3006 steps.

I haven't seen a phone booth this
grungy in a long time.

The building is really coming along.

Friday's Walk
Another beautiful day in downtown Eugene. I was a little slower and thoroughly enjoyed it. 1.67 miles, 2694 steps, in 36 minutes. I did 6.6 miles in four days at lunch. Which is WAY better than the week before when I did 0 miles!
Must be February because here's a pussy willow!

Were fire hydrants red and green before
they were yellow?

One of my all time favorites.
Again the lines!

My kind of graffiti.

Thursday's Walk
I'm realizing that I'm drawn to lines. Walked 1.72 miles (but I think my program was on while I was shopping in Vinnies), 2769 steps, in 29 minutes. Got two tops, six bracelets and two scarves for $20.44.

Damn Crane!

It was facing the other way yesterday.

Love the lines of this one.

It just seems to majestic,
the oh mighty crane.

I'm drawn to the church too. Again the lines.

Wednesday's Walk
Did 1.75 miles, 2811 steps, in 35 minutes. Beautiful day!
The "Crane"

At some point I need to take a movie of this thing,
was cool to see it working.

More interesting art on a building. Concrete.

Getting ideas for my porch.

Really loved this one!

There was an entire hedge of this stuff. Delicate.

Another of the church at 11th & Charnelton.

Walking Again
I'm walking downtown Eugene at lunch now. Did 1.55 miles, 2489 steps in 32 minutes. Slow I know, but felt really good. Here are the photos I took today. I know the crane at the construction site is going to be an obsession.
Construction on 10th at Lincoln
Didn't notice the bird when I took the photo of the really
big, long crane. Tonight on the way home from work
it had the most amazing sky behind it.
I loved how full the branches were, so graceful.
Close up of berries on the tree.
There are two of these on the fire station on
Willamette St. Interesting color.
Building on the corner of 10th and Willamette.
Strange little things on the top of the building.
Christmas lights or security?
